Golf Putting Tip - Head Alignment

Proper head alignment is required to ensure that your golf ball follows the line that you have decided for your putt. What is meant is that your eyes are aligned over the ball and line of putt. If they are not then you will have a tendency to miss the putt left or right.

You could put a mirror on the ground to determine this during practice, which is probably the most accurate, but you could also use your putter to determine if your eyes are over the ball. With two fingers holding the putter at the end of the grip, just place the end of the putter between your eyes. Closing one eye, sight down along the shaft of the putter. If your ball is located on this line of sight, then your head is positioned correctly. This method is not as accurate as a mirror but can be used to check your alignment when you are on the course.

If you have putted for a long time without a proper head alignment it will take some time practicing before it will become a natural feeling. But using this golf putting tip will make the extra time you spend in practice payoff with more consistent putts.
